Star 82 Review, the online and print-on-demand, art and literary magazine that I founded and edit, is entering its tenth year. We've seen so many changes in the past decade, as I note in the print issue, "It's a wonder the earth is still spinning at the same speed. And the earth itself is demanding our attention even as we carry on."
Lots of art in the issue; more and more people have been sending visual images, which is great to see. Among the art we have images of Luz Marina Ruiz's stellar and colorful tunnel books, more collage poems from Shantha Bunyan, and the painting/poem combinations from Larry Caveney, a recent regular contributor, all alongside thoughtful essays and poems. Where has all the fiction gone? Perhaps there is a need for what is fact-based and honest in these difficult times. But there is a need for escape and imagination, and fiction can reveal empathy, too. We shall see what the future issues bring in!
Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the issue. And feel free to catch up on past issues as well. Lots of good stuff in the archives.
