Following my art quilt of The Hidden Owl, I began thinking about what the other thirty-five hidden animals might be. I found I liked working with small colorful squares and enjoyed making a quilt based on a photograph I had taken. It has been a long stretch since we had neighbor cats, but this one came to visit one day. We have since had staring contests through the window, with him on the fence and me in the studio.
Again, you can see him clearly from a distance, but as you approach, he becomes blurry. I'm starting to think about what works as an abstract design as well as portray the animal.
