Art Quilt: The Buckeye

Near the end of autumn, the buckeye trees along the San Francisco Bay Trail shed everything and stand stark against changing sky. The marshland around them also changes color: shades of green emerging as the rain begins.

From months, maybe years ago, I had painted some small linen pieces with watercolor ground, and one became the starting point for this drawn and painted, square-foot quilt.
