Art Quilt: Return of the Poppies

When I see my tiny irises sending up leaves through the weeds I know it is time to get outside and garden. While I sat on my low green stool, tool in hand ripping out oxalis (a.k.a. sourgrass), I discovered California poppies trying to muscle through, so I cleared a path for them as well. Poppies are started to bloom near the SF Bay Trail too, endearing me to their orange color. My scraps contained orange and green pieces to become a quilt to honor the poppies and remind me of their insistence on returning, year after year.
