Things with Wings Exhibit at ACCI Gallery Berkeley

In an airy space in north Berkeley sits the ACCI Gallery, now in its 60th year, currently featuring an exhibit titled, "Things with Wings." It is a playful show, as the call for entry suggested, with works by a variety of artist in a variety of media, from paper quilling to mosaic to collage to painting to assemblage to art quilt and much more. The themed shows at this artists' cooperative are all in a partitioned space at the back, but open onto the back garden, which is filled with the members' works, as is the front and middle rooms. A California towhee flew in and sat chirping on a high beam near the skylights, but apparently it had visited before, so I was not too concerned about it.

Crows and Cons and Letters of Transit: Bird Passports: were juried into this birdy group show.

I made a Reader's Guide to go with Letters of Transit: Bird Passports. You can see it perched on top of the taller locked vitrine in the photo above. The Guide contains almost a facsimile of the passports, with all pages and text included. You can get info and/or order a print-on-demand Guide for yourself for $20 at LULU here.
